Core Editorial Principles

Accuracy First

Every health claim, statistic, and recommendation is backed by cited primary sources. We verify facts against named veterinary and public-health references before publication.

Full Transparency

We clearly disclose our funding sources, affiliate relationships, and any potential conflicts of interest. No hidden agendas.

Cat Welfare Priority

Feline health and wellbeing guide every recommendation. We never compromise on safety for commercial benefit.

Continuous Updates

Content is regularly reviewed and updated to reflect new research, product changes, and emerging best practices.

Our Content Creation Process

01

Research & Discovery

We begin with primary references such as the Merck Veterinary Manual, Cornell Feline Health Center, CDC/NIOSH, EPA, and OSHA, then add peer-reviewed literature where it materially improves the article.

02

Expert Writing

Content is drafted by Mark Archer. Technical sections are written to stay close to the cited source material rather than relying on vague marketing summaries.

03

Fact-Checking & Review

Every article undergoes fact-checking against primary sources and technical review from Dr. Michael Rodriguez when product science or materials claims are involved.

04

Publication & Monitoring

Published content includes author credentials, review dates, and source citations. We monitor for new research and update content as needed.

Source & Citation Standards

Primary Sources Preferred

We prioritize peer-reviewed veterinary journals, original research studies, and official veterinary organization guidelines. Secondary sources are clearly labeled.

Examples: Merck Veterinary Manual, Cornell Feline Health Center, CDC/NIOSH, EPA, OSHA, and peer-reviewed studies when they add needed specificity

Citation Requirements

Health and safety claims include inline citations linking to sources. Statistics include methodology notes when available. Unsupported manufacturer-style claims are removed rather than paraphrased.

Source Transparency

We disclose when information comes from manufacturers, distinguish between independent testing and manufacturer claims, and note potential bias in sources.

Regular Re-verification

Sources are re-checked during content updates. Broken links are fixed or replaced with current equivalents. Outdated research is flagged for replacement.

Editorial Independence

While Premium Cat Litter may maintain commercial relationships with some products we reference, our editorial content is developed independently with cat welfare as the sole priority.

Content Control

Our editorial team has full control over content topics, angles, and conclusions. Commercial teams do not influence editorial decisions.

Product Coverage

We cover the full range of premium litter options. All product comparisons are based on objective criteria.

Affiliate Relationships

We participate in affiliate programs and clearly disclose these relationships. Affiliate status never influences our recommendations.

Reader Trust

Maintaining your trust is our highest priority. We would rather lose a sale than recommend something not in your cat's best interest.
